Some Background
I've heard really good reviews about Rimmel powders. I got this one instead of the matte one because it mentioned that it would reduce breakouts.

Review
To be completely honest, I don't have much feelings for this product. It's one of those okay products that does its job, but doesn't strike me as amazing. I say this because the Rimmel powder definitely holds up in terms of staying power. But I'm looking for something that can make a bigger splash! Allow me to explain.

Prior to using Rimmel, I was using a powder by Paul & Joe. It smelt wonderful, and gave a really nice brightening effect. It took sometime to get used to, and the lasting power was not that great, but I really really liked the way it made me feel. Rimmel, on the other hand, is like Nivea creme...if you know what I mean. It gets the job done, it is practical, functional...high in utility, but that's all. It doesn't make me feel the same way as Paul & Joe. Maybe I'm just  being crazy.

Anyway, so Rimmel has amazing lasting power. I swear by it. It doesn't budge for at least 7 hours in the winter time. However, with the warmer weather now, I'm noticing the slight increase in oiliness. Nonetheless, still pretty good in terms of staying power when compared to Paul & Joe. I keep comparing back to PJ because it is the only other brand of powder I've used...

PJ had a really fine powder, where as Rimmel's powder is noticeably...less fine (rougher). While the Rimmel powder looks like it should have a nude color, it appears translucent after application. There were no brightening effect nor mattifying effect. My face feel and look like I've only just applied foundation, with the exception that the powder sometimes clung to dry spots (but all powders do that). This is why the Rimmel powder doesn't strike me as amazing, because I barely notice it there. Maybe that's what the name really mean..."clear complexion clarifying powder", maybe the clear meant the translucency of the powder..and not the fact that it minimizes breakouts? Regardless, this powder did not break me out, and my skin condition is pretty stable at the moment.

Quick Summary
Pros
- Long lasting
- Translucent and lightweight
- Simple, basic, and high in utility

Cons
- A little too basic for my liking >.<

Conclusion

Rimmel London's Clear Complexion Clarifying Powder is pretty good in terms of staying power. It is a practical product, and has high utility. It doesn't break me out and appears translucent after application. However, I would probably not purchase it again just because it doesn't make me feel too excited when using it. I would chose Paul & Joe over Rimmel despite it having a shorter lasting power. Perhaps it is time for Rimmel to step up their game in packaging and advertisement :3
