Review: Deep Steep Body Butter - Tangerine

Hey guys, I haven't been posting as frequently as I should. ( I know, shame on me >.<) A lot has happened since I last updated a post, but then again, it is relatively more difficult to keep y'all up to date with a blog.

In any case, school has started for me; hence the lack of updates. It has been super chaotic trying to get organized and come up with a schedule. I am hoping that I can get back to posting one post per week very soon :)

In terms of blogs, I thought about doing a fall look book, but I haven't been able to get around doing that. But since we are approaching the cooler weather, I thought it would be a good timing to do some reviews on body moisturizers. The skin tends to get drier in colder months, moisturizers are essential in keeping the skin from becoming dehydrated and scaly, especially in Canadian winters.

Product:
Deep Steep Body Butter - Tangerine

What it Claims:
"Deep Steep's Butter is just the ticket for ultimate hydration. It's specially formulated to restore moisture to skin in need of intensive repair"

Price:
I purchased a 6oz (177ml) tube of this product at Winners for $8.99 Canadian dollar.

Some Background
When I was a kid, I used to put body lotion on every night after I showered. But I stopped this amazing habit of mine as I grew older, funny how people lose good habits as they grow up.

Anyway, one day I was shopping around in Winners, and I couldn't resist all the beauty products that it had. I picked up the Deep Steep Body Butter thinking that I should get back into the habit of moisturizing my body everyday. Needless to say, that didn't really happen...But hey, the thought of it must count for something right?

I did end up purchasing this product on a whim, so I did not do research on it. But luckily, without knowing anything, I picked up a product that is all natural.

My Review:
I've been using this product for on and off, and so far I've used over 3/4th of the bottle. The Deep Steep Body Butter is made with all natural ingredients, so this is definitely a big plus for me.

Not that I have anything against products that uses safe chemicals, I just think all natural products are more gentle on the skin. And to think that I purchased this product without even reading the labels, I was pretty lucky.

The design of the bottle is nothing fancy, it is simple and straightforward. The bottle is easy to use, and I  perceive no trouble in terms of squeezing the last drop of the body butter out.

The Application
The tube has a cap that is easy to open and close. Upon opening the cap and squeezing the body butter out, the delicious smelling scent pours out. I got the tangerine scented body butter, and in my opinion it smells amazing!I usually prefer products that have a light fragrance, but this product is an exception.

In terms of application, it is very thick in consistency; I had to give it a couple good rubs before the product is completely transparent on my skin. After rubbing it a couple of times, the consistency gets even thicker and it becomes relatively more difficult to spread around.

If you are someone who prefer light body moisturizers, I would not recommend this product to you. However, this product is more suitable to those that has dry, scaly skin that is in need of repair. I usually use this product on my legs, elbows, and hands, sometimes I use it on the balls of my foot where it tends to be dry and tends to crack.

After application, it is visibly clear that my skin is less dry and flaky. But to be fair, the results are to be expected with a moisturizer/body butter.

Conclusion
Deep Steep's Body Butter comes in simple packaging that is very easy to use. The body butter is very thick in consistency and does an okay job in hydration. The plus side for me is the fact that the product is made with all natural ingredients, and it has a pleasant scent. In general, this product is more suitable to those that have dry, scaly skin.

Quick Summary:
Pros:
- Nicely scented
- All natural ingredients
- Simple packaging and easy to use
- Thick in consistency

Cons
- Consistency can be too thick to the point that it is a bit hard to spread around

Ratings: 3 out of 5 (60%)

Would I Purchase it Again?
Based on the packaging, Deep Steep is a brand that is against animal testing, and they are also environmentally conscious. I applaud them for the effort that they put in in terms of raising awareness on these issues. However, This product is what you would expect from an average moisturizer. I could be very critical in terms of giving good reviews, but it takes a lot for a product to amaze me. I wouldn't consider this product to be one of those products that gave me exceptional results. I would not be purchasing this product again, not because I dislike the product, but because I know there are better products out there.
